2021 Bull Sale Team finalised!
Our 2021 group of sale bulls have a mix of new and well proven sires, and while 22 sires are represented in the team, they are a fairly even line.
Ardcairnie F96 (Cohort 3, Angus Sire Benchmarking Program) progeny are again in the mix: his consistency in producing good offspring alongside many leading sires we have used, and the quality of his females, is why we have continued to use him. While a number of our clients have used his progeny, he still has a lot to offer the industry.
Ardcairnie J27, arguably one of the top bulls in Cohort 6 ASBP, has three sons in the team; Lot 3 impresses.
New sires this year include G A R Fail Safe with three sons, all with high IMF EBVs. Baldridge Beast Mode (six sons) are powerful ‘all-rounders’; the same is true of the three Chiltern Moe sons.
Our Blackrock Angus sires, M17, M59 and M106, have bred well with outcross genetics. The two Musgrave Mediator sons are lower BW curve benders as are many more in the team.
As is our usual practice, we offer the bulls in ‘fit-not-fat’ condition as we believe a bull has to be an athlete to perform his role in the herd over a long and productive life.
As we will not be involved in running a breeding herd in the future, no ‘keeper’ bulls have been retained. As most readers will know, the Ardcairnie Angus herd has been sold in its entirety to the Dewar Family based at Guilderton north of Perth who will continue the stud.
